No, not the cinema’s exit sign when it was finally over, but Jennifer Garner’s boobs. Yup, and now Hollywood has for once cottoned on: there will be no Daredevil sequel, but we will be getting an entire movie dedicated to Garner’s boobs. Ain’t life swell? Anyway, Elektra (the name of the Garner character) hits U.S. cinemas early 2005 and is directed by Rob Bowman (of the X-Files movie and Reign of Fire fame). Incidentally it also stars British actor Terence Stamp, who must be used to this sort of thing because he played the superpower villain General Zod in Superman II way back when. Expect this one to go the Catwoman route at the box office . . . Oh yeah, and at the risk of sounding waaayy too geeky (ah, too late already!): the costume worn here by her is closer to one in the original comics than in the Daredevil movie . THIS AIN'T NO HORROR FLICK, guys! Alright? It's a political-drama. Starring Ken Foree and he is, sorry guys, he is outstanding. So is the camera work and some of the other acting, especially newcomer Tory Thompson as the shooter. I personally deplore horror flicks, that's why I first refused to take a look at this one, but then my girlfriend Ginny convinced me to give it a a chance, and I must say it's one hell of a a stunner! It's intelligently written, inventive and a political bomb shell. It presents the characters without taking positions, it just tells the story and what a story it is, man! It blew my mind! Lommel and Forres writing is terrific and it goes under the skin. Just don't expect a horror flick, or else you'll be disappointed and write one of those reviews that don't seem to get the point.
